Welcome to my first blog! I’m thrilled to be writing this post on this particular collection. This year for independence I wanted to create a few pieces that represented Barbadian culture and highlighted the flora and beauty here on the island. Naturally I’m more drawn to paint nature and portraiture, so I stuck to that.
here's a little more info on a couple of the most prominent paintings :

‘’Barbadiana’’
Encompasses my love for flowers and the glee I feel whenever I visit gardens like Andromeda. It includes flora like the torch ginger, and the very rare jade vine that blooms yearly at flower forest.

“When Memories Live”
Is a nostalgic piece about remembering the experiences and memories we share growing up as islanders. We share a unique and special upbringing. Those memories are kept alive every time we speak about the ‘’good ole days” or reminiscing about childhood.

‘’Sweet and Dandy” was simply my way of paying tribute to one of my favorite bajan beverages. This piece was meant to be an expressive feel-good artwork!

I painted “Mornings on the Coast”and “Last Light” because I wanted to capture the polarity of the coasts at differing times. I love the cool, hazy freshness of the beach at dawn. And also the bright romantic colors of the sunset and the shimmering light on the ocean at dusk.
you can view all of the artworks in this collection here. If any of the pieces speak to you, please feel free to send me an email with your inquiry!
